In January, I visited Disney’s California Adventures Theme Park with a group of friends. I hadn’t been in over 4 years, but I knew I would enjoy myself. The Disney parks provide their visitors with the best experience one could have at a theme park. Magic flows through the air, the land is always clean, and there is always something interesting to look at.
What’s a Disnerd?
Disnerd = Disney + Nerd. I can’t really call myself a Disney Nerd because I don’t keep up with all the latest movies anymore, but I am always happy to visit the parks and gush at all the attractions that were engineered with attention to the slightest detail, from the attitudes of the Cast Members (employees) to the tiles in the bathroom walls. Plus, I own a lot of Disney clothing.
New Sights
Much has changed since I last visited. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror rebranded to Guardians of the Galaxy. The Aladdin musical playing at the Hyperion started showing Frozen instead. The area that was supposed to feel like an amusement park at a boardwalk was now called “Pixar Pier”. Avengers fans, rejoice! For a new Avengers Land was built with a new Spiderman ride and attractions featuring Ant Man, Doctor Strange and more.

Optical illusion magic!
Character Meet n Greets
Most people go to a theme park to ride rides. Yeah, that’s cool and all, but have you ever lined up to meet a Disney character? If you haven’t, I HIGHLY recommend it. The characters embody the characters so well. One time I met Ariel from The Little Mermaid and I swear, I met a true princess. On this trip, we met Mirabel from Encanto! Side plug, if you haven’t watched the movie, please do and let me know if the songs are stuck in your head 😛

Although I miss the old California Adventures, I am glad that Disney continues to innovate and bring new fan favorites to the park. There are so many new attractions to enjoy and memories to make.
